Liv Morgan Celebrates Eight Years In WWE

Liv Morgan is celebrating eight years today with WWE.

Morgan started with the company on this day in 2014 and was first signed to a developmental contract under the NXT brand. She would make her first televised appearance on NXT TakeOver: Rival in February 2015 when she posed as a fan who jumped on Tyler Breeze during his entrance. She would do the same thing again at TakeOver: Unstoppable. Morgan first went by the ring name Marley when she lost in her first match to Eva Marie.

Morgan would spend some time in NXT until 2017 and she earned her first victory against Aliyah before having matches with The Iconic Duo and would be used primarily on house shows. She would debut on SmackDown Live in 2017 as one-third of the Riott Squad alongside Sarah Logan and Ruby Riott. They would debut as heels attacking both Becky Lynch and Naomi before interrupting the Charlotte Flair match against Natalya. They would go on to attack both Flair and Natalya as well.

After a short time on SmackDown, the trio would eventually go to Raw and attack Sasha Banks and Bayley in their debut on the red brand. The team would stay together for two years and be one of six teams vying to become the first to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships inside of Elimination Chamber (Morgan and Logan).

The team was abruptly broken up with each having to go their own way after the Superstar Shakeup in April 2019. She would call out Charlotte Flair in July of that year and the two would go on to have a match which Flair won. Morgan would not be seen again until after she was traded back to Raw in late December. After a series of vignettes aired in regards to her returning with a new gimmick, she was put into a storyline with Lana.

Later in 2020, Morgan would reconcile with Riott and the two would become a team again. This time without Logan due to her 2020 release. The two would once again go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships until Riott was released from her contract after WrestleMania 37 in 2021.

Since then, other than a short-lived tag team with Rhea Ripley, Morgan has been a singles competitor. She had a high-profile feud with Becky Lynch earlier this year for the Raw Women’s Championship.

She would eventually win Money in the Bank this year and go on to cash in on Ronda Rousey. This had her win her first gold in WWE in nearly eight years as she became the SmackDown Women’s Champion. She held the gold for 97 days before being defeated by Rousey at Extreme Rules earlier this month.

Morgan has posted about her eight-year anniversary and has shared a photo of the “Hall of Champions” in the WWE Performance Center where she is now proudly displayed.
