Liv Morgan Takes Down Natalya; Maxxine Dupri Debuts Next Week

Just two weeks before SummerSlam, Liv Morgan continues to prove why she is SmackDown Women’s Champion by taking down Natalya.

On this week’s SmackDown, the two faced off in a Championship Contenders match where if Nattie would have been victorious she would earn a future title opportunity. The BOAT feels that she is the sole reason why Morgan is the current champion after weakening Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank.

In the final moments of the match, Natalya went for a superplex but the champion dropped her into the turnbuckle. Natalya returned the favor with a Liger Bomb but only got a near fall. An ankle lock was applied to Morgan but the champion launched Natalya into the middle turnbuckle. Following a codebreaker, Morgan would hit ObLIVion to pick up the victory.

Post match, Morgan was interviewed in the ring about her upcoming match against Rousey at SummerSlam. Kayla Braxton implied what may happen at the upcoming event because Morgan defeating Natalya took much longer and wasn’t as dominant as Rousey was against the same opponent last week. Morgan wouldn’t buy into what Braxton was selling. Despite her still being considered the underdog heading into her own championship match, she states she will still be called the SmackDown Women’s Champion at SummerSlam.

Morgan and Rousey will come face-to-face next week.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Aliyah continues to not have matches as she was set to take on Lacey Evans one-on-one. Last week the two were supposed to tag together but that match wouldn’t happen either as Evans turned heel and cut a promo. The same would take place this week with Evans leaving the ring and not wrestling Aliyah.

In a Digital Exclusive, Aliyah says she can’t wait to shut Evans up for good and called her a coward for constantly walking away from her.

Lastly, we will see the debut of Maxxine Dupri next week!

An unknown Superstar will make their debut as Maxxine Dupri when she joins her brother Max Dupri and the Maximum Male Models to unveil the 2022 Beachwear Collection.

Who could Ms. Dupri be?!?

Over on NXT: Level Up, Sol Ruca made her television debut in a losing effort against Kiana James.
