Luna Vachon’s Dark Side of the Ring episode to air on Oct. 14

This Thursday, the Dark Side of the Ring series will air its episode on Luna Vachon.

Coming from a wrestling family, Vachon made her debut in wrestling in the mid 1980’s and wrestled for over 20-years until her retirement in 2007. She wrestled for many promotions such as ECW, WCW, various indie promotions, and WWF. Vachon made a huge impact on the wrestling scene during her time in the industry. She was one of a kind and a pioneer that doesn’t always get the credit she deserves.

Vachon sadly passed away at the age of 48 in the year 2010 as a result of a drug overdose. The episode is titled Many Faces of Luna Vachon and has the following description:

A striking villain in the ring, Luna Vachon was a groundbreaking physical performer who battled mental illness and addiction while seeking to champion women’s wrestling.

Luna Vachon was one of wrestling’s most radical performers who battled addiction and mental illness while seeking to redefine women’s wrestling.

It will feature the likes of Mick Foley, Gangrel, Madusa, and Van Hurd among others. It airs Thursday, Oct. 14 on VICE TV at 9 P.M.
