Mariah May Retains Against Mina Shirakawa in Main Event; Rockstar Toni Storm Returns

Winter is Coming on this special edition of AEW Dynamite, and gold is on the line amongst some cold-blooded feuds within the women’s division.

A week from now at Holiday Bash, the TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, Mercedes Moné, will defend her TBS Championship against Anna Jay. But, tonight they agreed to have a face-to-face. Moné gloats about her success and thinks of Jay as a rookie. But Jay tells the CEO to not underestimate her efforts.

In our main event, the AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May, defends her title against Stardom’s Mina Shirakawa. After a horrendous betrayal at the hands of May at Full Gear, these former best friends will finally face each other with the championship on the line.

The two start trading fists, but Shirakawa gets a strong advantage locking in a figure-four leglock and spilling to the outside. But, May plays dirty and sends Shirakawa into the steel steps followed up into the barricade. May attempts to knee Shirakawa on the apron but gets caught, and Shirakawa locks in a figure-four on the corner ringpost.

May manages to fend off Shirakawa for a second but gets caught with a springboard kick. The two trade strikes and both women go down. Shirakawa begins to fire up on her former best friend and goes for a three-count but gets broken as May grabs the ropes. May hits the knee and follows up with a May Day, for Shirakawa to miraculously kick out.

Shirakawa gets to the middle rope and hits a Slingblade to follow up with a Glamorous Driver. Unfortunately for Shirakawa, May hits a Storm Zero to retain her title.

A disappointed Thunder Rosa laments with the crowd at the result, but out of nowhere in comes a returning Toni Storm. But this go-around, un-timeless.

What did you think about tonight’s AEW Dynamite? Who will come out TBS Champion next week? And where has Timeless Toni Storm gone? Let us know in the comments!
