Maxxine Dupri wins her first championship in WWE. And she did it at Madison Square Garden.
Becoming only the third woman to hold the belt introduced at the beginning of 2025, Maxxine Dupri is the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. She defeated her rival Becky Lynch on the Nov. 17 episode of Raw. This ends Lynch’s reign at 163 days and seven successful title defenses. Dupri’s win wasn’t done alone, however.
Dupri has another great showing in the ring against arguably the best in the world, Lynch. As the match progresses, Dupri starts gaining more offense. She gets Lynch caught in ankle lock which eventually landed the two on the mat. Lynch reversed it, but Dupri kicked out. Lynch hit a ManHandle Slam, but she was too close to the ropes, and Dupri used that to her advantage, getting her foot on the ropes. Moments later, Lynch argues with her nemesis, referee Jessika Carr. As she does this, she tosses Dupri to the outside. As Carr is making the count, Lynch is untying the turnbuckle behind the referee’s back. Light it Up!!
AJ Lee’s music hits, and it is the first time we have seen the Diva since her win with CM Punk at WrestlePalooza in September. This was enough of a distraction for Lynch to become filled with rage and take her head out of the match. Dupri was regrouping and climbed to the top and hit a cross body on Lynch to get the three count and become the new champion. Dupri and Lee celebrated on the ramp with pyro going off in the background. Dupri’s family was at the show.
A little bit later on, Jackie Redmond catches up with the new champion and AJ Lee. Dupri described the feeling of becoming a champion for the first time. That all her hard work has paid off. Otis and Akira Tozawa appeared to celebrate. As the trio left, Redmond asked Lee if she was going to be sticking around for a while. She states that she originally came back because her husband needed some help. But there is something about Becky that gets to her!
Rhea Ripley enters the frame and asks AJ if she can chat with her!
