Maxxine Dupri Scores Upset; Valkyria Leans Into Bayley’s Complexity; Asuka Slaps Kairi Sane Into A Match

Maxxine Dupri scores a win on the Oct. 6 episode of Raw against WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch in a non-title exchange.

In a match that lasted nearly 14 minutes, the back half really picked up as there were many near falls between the two competitors. The final moments of the match had both women out of the ring. The official Jessika Carr was at the count of about seven when Dupri rolled herself back in the ring. Lynch was busy showboating on the announce table, clueless to the count going on, or perhaps she knew just how much time she had. Carr would speed up the count when Dupri entered the ring, counting the remainder to 10 in quick order.

As the Alicia Taylor named Dupri as the winner by count out, Dupri fled out of the ring and up the ramp. Lynch was irate in the ring.

Later in the night, Lynch was in a dressing room with Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins. Lynch would go on a rant about how her match ended including the referee’s quick count.

Elsewhere on Raw, we continued to see Lyra Valkyria and Bayley tangle with the Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez/Raquel Rodriguez). The unique dynamic between Bayley’s fighting personalities and Valkyria trying to make sense of it all had Valkyria leaning more into the heelish side of Bayley’s mind.

A match took place between Valkyria and Perez. This is a rematch from several weeks ago where Valkyria had won that prior encounter. This was when Bayley made her return. Since then we have been on a roller coaster between the four women with each side earning victories. This time, Perez snuck out the win over Valkyria.

The final moments of the match had Perez hit a suicide dive into a DDT on Valkyria on the outside. She would get Valkyria back in the ring to hit Pop Rox and get the pin. Post match, Bayley would hype up Valkyria to help her go get Judgement Day after they made their way to the back.

Moments later caught the four women in the back in a brawl which was separated by security and Adam Pearce. Next week, the two team go head to head.

We were treated to three women’s matches this week as Kairi Sane took on IYO SKY. A bit reluctantly, but a slap to the face by Asuka earlier in the night was what made her do it. The Kabuki Warriors will be facing SKY and Rhea Ripley at Crown Jewel this weekend in Perth, Australia. Ripley was not present to help SKY this week as she was said to already be in Perth doing WWE press.

Sane took on SKY later in the night. A match many were anticipating and it definitely sold every moment and had the aura of a STARDOM match in WWE. The final moments of the match had Asuka intefere and cost SKY the match. With the referee not seeing,Sane did a bridge pin on SKY with Asuka holding down Sane’s arms so SKY could not kick out. With Sane picking up the win and Ripley not there to help, the post match attack included Sane going up top and delivering an Insane Elbow on the fallen SKY.

Personally, this could have been a way to put Nikki Bella into it as she had been scolded by Asuka a couple times for befriending IYO. But I digress.
