Coming from down under at AEW Grand Slam Australia, AEW Dynamite is in Phoenix, Arizona tonight and new feuds are brewing within the Women’s Division.
The first four-time AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, will address the crowd tonight after her historic title win this past Saturday. After Mariah May’s defeat due to Storm’s small package, our world champion calls out the entire roster to see who’s up for the performance.
Backstage, Renee Paquette is with Willow Nightingale who attempts to address the attack on her last week by Marina Shafir and Jon Moxley. Unfortunately, she is cut short yet again due to their antics.
The CEO, Mercedes Moné, is in Phoenix tonight making a stop off her victorious Moné train. Stardom’s Momo Watanabe was in attendance at Grand Slam Australia this past Saturday and says she’s using her title shot for the TBS Championship at AEW Revolution.
After a vicious attack at the hands of Megan Bayne last week, Kris Statlander has an opportunity to get some revenge as they face off tonight.
The two are evenly matched, but Bayne manages to overpower her in strength and size and takes over the match with a Spear. The match resets itself as Statlander hits a Superplex, but Bayne follows up with a Falcon Arrow.
Both competitors are shot-for-shot and both spill to the apron. Statlander catches Bayne and plants her on the apron. Bayne powers through however and brings Statlander to the ring her way.
Both are propped up on the top rope, but as Statlander gains the advantage Penelope Ford gets involved. With the help of the distraction, Bayne plants Statlander for the win.
Post-match, Ford is pummeling on Statlander as Bayne watches. Thunder Rosa comes in to make the save, as the grudges between these ladies carry on.
What did you think about tonight’s AEW Dynamite? Who is up next to challenge Storm? Can Bayne continue this dominant streak with Ford at her side? And can Watanabe take the TBS title away from The CEO? Let us know in the comments below!
