Mercedes Martinez is set to defend the ROH Women’s World Championship for the second week in a row on AEW Dark: Elevation. Martinez has been the undisputed champion since defeating former champion Deonna Purrazzo on the May 4 episode of Dynamite. Since then she has been a fighting champion.
On last week’s Elevation, Martinez successfully defended the gold against Trish Adora. The champ caused Adora to tap out in a dragon sleeper submission. Adora was one of the favorites to win the championship first after a tournament took place last summer. That win ended up going to Rok-C.
On this week’s Elevation which will air on YouTube on Monday, May 23, Martinez takes to the main event of the show once again, this time against Hyan.
