It’s a special night here at AEW Dynamite as the show celebrates its 300th episode! And on this big night, there are even bigger stakes within the women’s division as the TBS Champion, Mercedes Moné, defends her title against Mina Shirakawa.
Speaking of big numbers, tonight marks 400 days since Moné had won the TBS Championship and this upcoming title match marks Moné’s 1000th career match. Despite this, Shirakawa hopes to take The CEO’s title heading into All In Texas.
Here to watch the match is the AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, in an unusually stoic disposition. She goes on to defend the title against Moné in ten days.
Shirakawa knows how to have fun, but The CEO is prime focused on not losing the title tonight.
The two end up tussling, as Shirakawa targets Moné’s knee. The two spill outside the ring, and Shirakawa does everything it takes to keep Moné down.
Shirakawa bombards Moné with a flurry of kicks and manages to hit the Glamorous Driver only for a two-count. Moné finally begins to fight back and hits her signature lungeblower. By the skin of her teeth, Moné counters and pins Shirakawa to successfully defend her title.
But, she’s not done as she attacks Shirakawa post-match. Storm attempts to make the save, but gets stopped in her tracks as well. The CEO is not done as she tastes some cake, splashes champagne on Luther, and celebrates in her, albeit, arrogant glory.
