Mercedes Moné has won the top prize in AEW as she is now the AEW Women’s World Champion.
At All In on Sunday, a third title change happened in the women’s division when Moné defeated Willow Nightingale to claim the top spot in the company. The CEO had won the Owen Hart Cup for a second consecutive year to earn the shot against Nightingale. These two women go back as rivals for the past few years and this time, Moné was the victor. This ended Willow’s reign at just 35 days.
Former champion Thekla was in the crowd watching the match.
Nightingale was not 100% going into this match. She had suffered a broken hand which Moné certainly focused on throughout the match. In the final moments, Moné hit another Statement Maker and won the match via referee stoppage after Nightingale passed out.
Earlier at the event in London, two-thirds of the Artist of Stardom Champions, Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) took on Wrathlander (Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron). Wrathlander picked up the victory.
