MIRAI has confirmed that she will be leaving the Marigold promotion next month. Her final match with the promotion will take place at the October 13 Korakuen Hall event. She will team with Mai Sakurai in a bout against Nagisa Nozaki and CHIAKI. This is the same team they lost the TwinStar Championships to in December. MIRAI and Sakurai were the inaugural champions.
The 25 year old is highly decorated from STARDOM prior to joining Marigold. She also worked in the DDT Pro Wrestling promotion to start her career in 2019.
When asked if this will lead to her being freelance, she states that she is weighing her options. Marigold owner and former co-owner of STARDOM Rossy Ogawa stated the following –
“At today’s Shin-Kiba show, MIRAI announced her departure from Marigold. We had numerous discussions with her, but ultimately, we decided to respect MIRAI’s wishes and allow her to leave. Since this was her choice, our role will now be to watch over her, and I look forward to her future activities. Any promotion faces as many goodbyes as there are new members. That is the fate of running a promotion. Every promotion faces internal conflicts. There is happy news and sad news; I ask that the fans share in all of it with us, as part of pro-wrestling.”
