We are en route toward All In London in just 11 days, but tonight we have gold on the line in Baltimore, Maryland, on this edition of AEW Dynamite.
The TBS Championship is on the line tonight as the champion, Maya World, defends her title in a four-way match against Persephone, Hikaru Shida, and Kris Statlander. World is determined to beat the odds, just like she has been these past few months.
The champion tries to clear the ring of the competition, but it all spills to the outside. World is the last woman standing, but the short alliance between Shida and Persephone is still in the works.
Persephone has a grip on Statlander and lands a German Suplex for a two-count. World stomps on Persephone’s parade, but meets a suplex in the corner by Shida. A Tower of Doom collapses due to Statlander, as she continues to take everyone out. Shida finds an opening to land a Falcon Arrow on Statlander as Persephone hits the Spear.
Persephone and Shida lock eyes, but it’s about the championship for them tonight. Shida is about to get powerbombed, but Statlander snatches it from her. Statlander is about to put Persephone away, but World saves her championship in mere milliseconds. World is about to feel some Wednesday Night Fever, but reverses to score the pinfall and remain TBS Champion.
World is backstage after her successful defense, but the AEW Women’s World Champion, Willow Nightingale, has some promises to keep. On Collision this Saturday, Nightingale will defend her title against the World. If World wins, it could potentially change the matchup come All In.
The Brawling Birds are backstage and are in the mood to punch the Divine Dominion in the face. After their altercation during this past weekend’s Collision, is the Divine Dominion ready for London?
Renee Paquette talks with both Mercedes Moné and Nightingale in two separate rooms, before their big championship match at All In London. Moné says she didn’t beat Nightingale enough last week because she’s still smiling. Nightingale says it’s because of the fans and the connection she has with everyone. Moné calls her a “bully” for what she’s done, and that she only has 11 days left to smile.
The two don’t have any words left and try to find each other in the arena. They immediately start brawling and find themselves spilling out towards the ring. A real fight ensues as security tries to pull both women apart. Security has to drag Moné to the back as she gives Nightingale the bird.
