It’s another 4-hour Summer Blockbuster edition of AEW Dynamite and Collision as we take a step closer towards All In Texas.
After making her triumphant return to AEW in 2 years, TayJay reunites tonight as Tay Melo partners with Anna Jay, to take on Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne.
Melo attempts to work out the ring rust, but Bayne starts out the match proving she’s the dominant force amongst the four. As Melo gets sent to the outside, Jay attempts to fight back against this dominant duo.
Jay makes the hot tag out to Melo and takes it to both Bayne and Ford. Melo wears down Bayne for a moment, but both Jay and Ford head high risk.
Bayne hits a two-for-one special and Ford demands the tag in. But, as they prep up Melo for the finish, Jay holds down Bayne as Melo knocks Ford out for the win. Bayne is ultimately not too happy with this.
Despite losing last week’s tag team match, Julia Hart is determined to take on the AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm. In commentary for this match is “The CEO” Mercedes Moné, but by the looks of it, she has even more dinner plans.
As they both make their entrances, Skye Blue pummels Storm before the match begins. Due to this, the referee sends Blue to the back.
As the match starts, Storm can barely get up and Hart hits the Moonsault only for a two-count. Hart is in control of the match and as she goes Old School she gets caught for Storm to take over with a sequence of suplexes.
In the middle of the match, Moné announces that next week at Grand Slam: Mexico at Arena México she wants to challenge for the CMLL Women’s World Championship, which Zeuxis currently holds.
Back in the ring, Storm hits the finish on Hart for the win and this finally catches the attention of Moné. The belt collector confronts Storm and lays it out on her. Mina Shirakawa makes the save, but Moné makes the U-turn and begins to lay more hands on Shirakawa. With the World Championship in Moné’s hands, she tells Storm to finally kiss that title goodbye.
Later in the night, Renee Paquette looks to catch up with Moné after this incident and also questions her vision for the CMLL title. Out of the blue, Zeuxis appears and accepts the challenge while also putting Moné in her place.
Willow Nightingale and Taya Valkyrie are involved in some Trios action tonight, as Nightingale teams with The Clongomeration to take on Valkyrie and the MxM Collection. Kris Statlander is also watching this match very closely.
It’s a chaotic match throughout and with both Nightingale and Valkyrie in the ring, Nightingale hits the Babe with the Powerbomb to pick up the win for her team.
Next, we take a look last week after Fyter Fest and witness Statlander having an interesting interaction with the Death Riders’ Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir.
After a successful in-ring debut last week, Thekla is in action again tonight against a woman who she had ticked off last week, Queen Aminata.
Thekla continues to retreat in her offense, but Aminata is not having any of those games tonight. Aminata gets caught up in Thekla’s web but continues to hit hard throughout the match.
Aminata attempts to take Thekla’s head off, but Thekla furiously kicks out each time. Thekla gets Amina to her knees and locks the Death Trap for the win.
