WrestleMania 41 Night One is over for the ladies, and we were treated to two entertaining and personal matches. First, Naomi and Jade Cargill became the first two women in 19 years to have a singles match without a title involved. Naomi was welcomed with a new theme and fully committed to her caution gimmick. Cargill, of course, was the storm we’ve grown to love and fear at the same time.
This was probably the best Cargill has looked in a match, and she was looking for some much-needed revenge, which she did receive. In the final moments of the match, Cargill had Naomi up on her shoulders and turned it into a power bomb. Instead of going for the pin, though, she lifted Naomi up into Jaded to get the pin. Hopefully, with Jade picking up the win here that this isn’t the end between these two.
Tiffany Stratton walked into WrestleMania as champion and left the same way (albeit very beaten up and bruised). In a match with Charlotte Flair that felt like just going through the motions, it picked up in the middle. The match was good in all the bad ways as both women were absolutely spent by time the match ended as they literally beat the life out of each out, including the welt on Tiffy’s head and the chipped tooth.
With every bit of energy that Stratton had left in her body, she was able to hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for a second time, and this time Flair wouldn’t get her knees up. Stratton continues her reign as WWE Women’s Champion.
WrestleMania 41 continues on Night Two on Sunday. Diva Dirt will have up our Discussion Post and coverage throughout the show.
