Natsupoi is currently gearing up for her debut in the United States. Former Wonder of Stardom Champion and member of Cosmic Angels, Natsupoi will be teaming with fellow leader Aya Sakura as they take on Brittnie Brooks and Saki at American Dream on April 17 in Las Vegas. Once back in Japan for later in April, Natsupoi will take on Maki Itoh at All Star Grand Queendom.
At All Star Grand Queendom on April 26, the World of Stardom Title will be on the line as Saya Kamitani defends against Cosmic Angels, Sayaka Kurara. If Kurara loses, the Cosmic Angels will disband.
While talking to Scott Edwards of Fightful, Natsupoi explained how she feels about Kurara putting the future of the stable on the line.
“Honestly, I was surprised by Kurara’s decision. I was also worried about her for taking such a heavy burden upon herself.
It’s true, I have a lot of mixed feelings and memories tied to the group. But I don’t think there’s any point in clinging to the past!
In a good way, I feel that this sense of suspense — this uncertainty of not knowing what’s going to happen next— is actually part of what makes the Cosmic Angels *us*.
Of course, I believe in Kurara. So I’m confident that the feelings I’m experiencing right now will eventually become just another fond memory — something we can look back on and say, ‘Remember *that* time?’ The Cosmic Angels aren’t going anywhere.”
Natsupoi also talks about her good friendship with Sareee.
“Sareee is always there to give me the push I need. That period was incredibly tough for me. So many things weren’t going my way, and I had completely lost sight of how to even motivate myself. I truly believe that my battles against Sareee were exactly what I needed to snap me out of that funk — to ‘wake Natsupoi up,’ so to speak.
That is something that simply cannot be done without love.
Although I lost those matches, I still haven’t given up on my goal of defeating Sareee. That remains one of my primary goals and a major source of my motivation.
Sareee is my best friend, but ever since that time, she has also become my greatest rival!”
