NXT Tag Team Reunites, Tag Title Match set for Stand & Deliver

On the last episode of NXT 2.0 before Stand & Deliver this weekend, a tag team reunited that no one saw coming.

Coming back from a vicious attack from Toxic Attraction during her match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Raquel Gonzalez has returned. Not only did she return, but she reunited with her former tag team partner, Dakota Kai.

In a segment inside the ring, all three members of Toxic Attraction took to the mic to address Stand & Deliver. The NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has to now battle three women (Cora Jade, Io Shirai, and Kay Lee Ray) in a Fatal 4-way on Saturday. After Shirai and KLR won the Dusty Cup last week they chose to cash in on Rose instead of going for the tag titles.

Toxic Attraction explains that they took out Gonzalez and Jade from the tournament as they were the favors to win. This helped Kai and Wendy Choo advance to the finals but they couldn’t win the tournament. Speaking of Choo, Kai was looking for her now former (?) tag team partner earlier in the night.

Kai found Choo’s belongings on the floor backstage as they were torn up and ruined. Toxic Attraction confirmed that they had something to do with the attack as they had some of Choo’s belongings on them in the ring.

Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne added that they would walk into Stand & Deliver as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and watch as Rose retains her title from “three other bimbos at the same damn time.” Kai’s music hits and she rushes to the ring but the numbers are not to her advantage.

Gonzalez’s music hits marking her return and the former NXT Women’s Champion helps Kai clear the ring from Toxic Attraction. The two would eventually embrace with Kai jumping into the arms of Gonzalez. They celebrate their reuninon by raising up the tag team titles and a match is booked between Toxic Attraction and Kai/Gonzaelz for Stand & Deliver. The match will be on the Kick Off show.

There were two women’s matches this week for NXT 2.0. The results were as follows –

Ivy Nile defeated Tiffany Stratton

Nikkita Lyons defeated Sloane Jacobs (Notorious Mimi)

Nile picked up a victory making her still undefeated in singles competition. She was able to pick up the win on Stratton thanks to a distraction by Sarray. Stratton and Sarray have been in a rivalry which had Sarray jump on the ring apron and have words with her adversary. As Stratton was lifting Nile up, Nile countered and locked in a submission which caused Stratton to tap out.

Nile had a segment earlier in the night with Tatum Paxley who is trying to fit in with Diamond Mine. Paxley will be in action this Friday on NXT: Level Up against Kayden Carter.

Nikkita Lyons made quick work of Sloane Jacobs. Jacobs is formerly known as Notorious Mimi and had been on the indies and AEW Dark. She is part of the most recent class of signees which includes the former ROH Women’s World Champion Rok-C.

After Lyons picked up her win, Lash Legend appeared on the screen and called her out for them to handle their growing rivalry after Stand & Deliver.

Promos aired from Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray along with one from Cora Jade ahead of their title match this weekend. You can see them below. Shirai and KLR clashed a bit as the team will be opponents come Saturday. Jade discussed of her dreams as a kid to become a WWE Superstar and how she wrote in her wrestling journal. The vignette showed her wanting to be the Divas Champion.

Sofia Cromwell was seen once again in the crowd as she was watching Von Wagner pick up a victory. She has been having talks with Robert Stone and has expressed her interest.

Lastly, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta are still friends, a tag team, but are still arguing over who is the better couple. In a backstage segment, they have stated that at Stand & Deliver they will let the fans decide which couple is the best.

As a reminder, Stand & Deliver will be on Day One of WrestleMania, this Saturday April 2. It will start at 1 PM EST, 12PM Kick Off.

Diva Dirt will have a Discussion Post for both NXT Stand & Deliver and both days of WrestleMania. Come and join the discussion for all shows.
