NXT Women’s Title Match Confirmed for Stand & Deliver

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has her opponent for Stand & Deliver and that is Cora Jade.

On this week’s NXT 2.0, Cora showed up towards the beginning of the show in a backstage interview. In that interview, she confirmed that thanks to the attack from Toxic Attraction last week, Raquel Gonzalez will be out of action for four to six weeks. It was the attack on Gonzalez that caused her and Cora to lose their semi-final match in the Dusty Rhodes Classic. Cora had one mission for the rest of the night and that was to play games and taunt Toxic Attraction. And she did just that.

With having all three pieces of championship gold that she stole from Toxic Attraction, she had them on the hunt all night to get the belts back. After realizing their belts were missing, the champs would run into Dakota Kai & Wendy Choo in the locker room but received no help in finding out where Cora was. The trio ended up covering more ground by splitting up the search.

Jacy Jayne was the first to find her title belt, but when she pulled it down, she was locked in a cage. Gigi Dolin was next, but her belt was perched up in a dumpster. Once she climbed in to retrieve her championship, Cora captured her in the dumpster with a forklift that kept the lid shut. She proclaimed two down and only one to go.

Cora would be seen later in the night walking out to the parking lot with the NXT Women’s Title belt along with a can of spray paint. She saw Mandy’s Range Rover and decided to get into the driver’s seat. Mandy was in the backseat and the two brawled outside the vehicle before the champion got the better of the situation and laid her out on the asphalt. In an ode to Scott Hall, Mandy used the spray paint on the back of Cora with Jacy & Gigi by her side.

The match is now set for Stand & Deliver where Mandy will defend her title against Cora Jade. Jade last challenged for the title against Mandy in a Triple Threat which also involved Raquel Gonzalez at New Year’s Evil.

There were two women’s matches on this week’s show.

Tiffany Stratton made short work of Sarray by attacking her before the bell rang. As Sarray was making her way out to the ring, Stratton attacked her from behind which prevented her from making her transformation. Sarray tried to get back into the match once the bell rang, but she missed with a dropkick and landed hard on the outside. Now with Sarray in trouble, Stratton hit a cartwheel splash in the corner before executing her corkscrew finisher for the win.

Next, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta may no longer be friends and a tag team as they faced off one-on-one. The goal was to see who was the weakest link and it turns out that Hartwell got the victory. Oddly, the two made their way to the ring together even though they were opponents.

Pirotta would focus on the wedding ring of Hartwell’s attempting to rip it off. Harter to rip the wedding ring off Hartwell, but Hartwell would proceed to counter by connecting a clothesline-bulldog getting a near fall. Duke Hudson, who was at ringside, would attempt to distract Hartwell who was on the ring apron which then gave Pirotta the advantage. Just as Pirotta was perhaps set to put Hartwell away for the three count. Dexter Lumis crawled out from under the ring and caused a distraction for her. Hartwell got the roll-up for the victory.

After the match in a “Kiss-off”, the two couples would continue kissing in the ring to try and prove which couple was better.

Other women on the show this week included Fallon Henley who appears to be further igniting a feud with Elektra Lopez. Lopez was ringside for Raul Mendoza’s match against Dominik Mysterio. Henley would show up causing a distraction which helped Dominik get a win.

In a WWE Exclusive, Sofia Cromwell was seen speaking to Robert Stone. She appeared last week in the audience eyeing up Von Wagner during his match. Wagner is the current client of Stone. Cromwell has yet to be officially introduced.

There was also a promo from Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai as they are set to face Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The winners will face Toxic Attraction for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. The title match will likely take place at Stand & Deliver.

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the women of NXT. Stand & Deliver will take place on the same day as the first day of WrestleMania at 1 PM EST.
