In an excellent match that was given decent time for both former champions to showcase their talent, Rose caused Shida to tap in the stretch muffler.

In the final moments of the match, Serena Deeb emerged and clipped the knee of Shida which was the beginning of the end for her. Deeb quickly jumped back over the barricade after her interference. Shida tries to submit Rose in a Triangle but Rose was able to break free leading to Rose locking in her own submission. Shida and Deeb have been enriched in a rivalry for some time now and Deeb was taken out by Shida in the first round of this tournament.

Rose will be facing the winner of the Ruby Soho vs. Kris Statlander match in the semi-finals.

Shida was able to get some payback on at least one person, however. Vickie Guerrero was once again trying to hit Shida with her kendo stick but it was Guerrero who would suffer the smack to the back after she stumbled.

On this Friday’s AEW Rampage, the next quarter-finals match takes place as Red Velvet takes on Jade Cargill.

These two women have a history together as Velvet was part of Cargill’s first match in AEW over a year ago. Cargill has bested Red Velvet during their prior encounters. Red Velvet will be looking to deliver Cargill her first loss in AEW while also advancing to the semi-finals.

A promo aired for Tay Conti following her match against Dr. Britt Baker at Full Gear.
