TNA Impact is live tonight in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have some pretty big matchups ahead. But first, we are graced by none other than former WWE ring announcer, Lilian Garcia!
The TNA Knockouts World Championship is on the line as the champion, NXT’s Arianna Grace, defends her title against Jody Threat. Threat won her shot at the Knockouts title in a Battle Royal, but has faced the wrath of The Diamond Collective in recent weeks. Speaking of the team, they’re here tonight on commentary for this Knockouts title match.
Threat’s experience outweighs Grace’s and is proven so throughout the matchup. The ring gets crowded as Indi Hartwell, Dani Luna, Xia Brookside, and Lei Ying Lee take a closer look at this match.
However, due to rib injuries caused by none other than The Diamond Collective, Threat suffers as Grace plays into her advantage and outsmarts her. Grace goes for the stolen Cobra, but meets a tug-of-war with Threat. The injury proves to be too much and ultimately costs Threat the match, as Grace retains.
The Elegance Brand is all high and mighty after taking out Mickie James last week on Impact. The TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, M and Heather By Elegance, are without their leader because of mental health reasons, and blame James and the entire TNA audience.
Former Knockout, ODB, comes out of the crowd and wonders what the noise is as she’s trying to sell meat from her food truck. The Elegance Brand calls ODB disgusting, and ODB calls them a bunch of knockoffs. Despite the numbers game, ODB takes them all out with ease. The cast of Mama June helps ODB cover them in meat, getting some revenge for James.
Rosemary is talking to her demons and is reminded of her fallen partners. She attempts to make things right as she talks to TNA President Carlos Silva. They seem to re-sign a contract, but what kind of oath did they sign? It seems like a person with a Bunny head on may have answers.
Elayna Black is set to face off one-on-one with Mara Sadé. After weeks of going back and forth verbally, they finally get physical tonight.
The two standouts meet back and forth, and Sadé survives Black’s onslaught as she kicks out from a vicious Canadian Destroyer. Sadé fights back with a Crossbody from the springboard and another one to the outside. Black attempts to pick up a chair from underneath the ring, but as the referee is distracted, she picks up some brass knuckles to knock out Sade and pick up the win.
