Inaugural NXT Women’s Champion Paige was the most recent guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast. On Oral Sessions, Paige opened up about the possibility of returning to wrestling.
Paige had to retire from the WWE ring at the young age of 25 following a serious neck injury. Fans have been speculating on a possible return for Paige for quite some time. The British-born star appears eager to make a comeback to the ring, and said to Renee:
“It [neck] feels good and, honestly, it actually scares me as well to maybe come back to wrestling because I really want to and I would come back tomorrow but I’m always gonna have in the back of my head, like what if something happens and I do get paralyzed? So it does scare me. I know I’m not gonna be fully ready mentally to come back, but watch out world! Because when I am mentally ready to come back, everyone’s in trouble!” (H/T Sportskeeda Wrestling)
If Paige could return to WWE following her neck injury, she would be following in the footsteps of male stars like Daniel Bryan and Edge.
Paige also revealed which WWE icon she would love to face
Paige went toe-to-toe with many huge talents during her in-ring career. She won the Divas Championship from AJ Lee on her RAW debut and had rivalries with The Bella Twins, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair just to name a few.
Speaking to Paquette, Paige revealed that she would love to face Beth Phoenix if she could return.
“Him [Edge] and Beth Phoenix have both reached out to me. Which, I would love if ever came back to face Beth Phoenix. I feel like she would just – first of all, make me look a million dollars, but she would protect me at all costs. And I’ve never been in a ring with her.”
