Last Saturday was a big day for NXT Diva Paige: she turned 21 and defended her NXT Women’s Title in front of a fired up WWE crowd.
Paige wrestled Emma at SummerSlam Axxess, winning the match and receiving a celebratory performance of “Happy Birthday” from the fans.
The birthday girl posted a photo of the moment on Instagram, captioning it, “Fans singing happy birthday! #ilovefans”
While many people come to dread turning one year older, Paige must be savoring each and every birthday. After all, her youth is the oft-cited reason for her not being called up to the main roster.
It’s nice to see Paige embracing the babyface role, but it’s surreal, given that her mother is one of the biggest and most intimidating heels in the business. We don’t expect Saraya Knight to be using hashtags like #ilovefans any time soon!
