PJ Vasa has the upper hand heading into the Evolve Women’s Championship Gauntlet match in two weeks. On the April 1 episode of Evolve, there was a five-way match to determine who would enter in the gauntlet last, giving that individual the best shot at becoming the new champion. The championship is currently vacant as Kendal Grey relinquished it to move to NXT.
Vasa took the win after gaining dominance towards the end of the match. The bout also included Wendy Choo, Laynie Luck, Nikkita Lyons, and the inaugural and former Evolve Women’s Champion – Kali Armstrong. Vasa pinned Choo for the victory.
All five of these women will participate in the upcoming gauntlet match. There will be two more women added to the match.
One woman who wants to be added is Zena Sterling. She was quite upset with the General Manager Timothy Thatcher who let her know she has to earn her spot in the gauntlet. And to do so, she has to start picking up some wins. As Thatcher walked away, Sterling became irate and grabbed a chair before taking her anger out with the weapon on the garage door behind her.
Next week we will see the new WWE ID Prospects. They will have a women’s qualifier match. The winner will go on to get a match against the WWE Women’s ID Champion – who is currently Laynie Luck. The likely participants are recently signed talents Airica Demi, Notorious Mimi, and Fallyn Grey.
