The reason for delaying the match is reported to be because of the uncertainty surrounding the status of SummerSlam and if it will be able to go ahead in the scheduled venue and in front of a live crowd.
SummerSlam is still planned to take place in Boston on Aug, 23. However, Boston will not be hosting any events with live crowds until September at the earliest.
Ever since Bayley became the SmackDown Women’s Champion last year, WWE has been teasing animosity growing between Bayley and Banks over the championship. Although Banks did challenge for the title on the show it was in a fatal-five way elimination match, in which Bayley retained.
A feud between Bayley and Sasha Banks has been teased before on the main roster. Way back in 2018 the two had a heated angle that resulted in them going to counseling and becoming “The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection” and the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Fans have been asking for another Bayley and Banks match for years, ever since they tore the house down five years ago at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Although there has been no confirmation on the match being halted as of yet it seems as though we will be waiting a bit longer for Bayley vs Banks on the main roster.
