Hola a todxs and welcome to the honor club! This week we had two of our ROH champions defend their honor (and one of them her title) in one on one matches.
We opened the show with the Forever ROH Champion and the wrestler with the longest title reign of the modern era, The Fallen Goddess and Minion Overlord, Athena.
Despite her up and coming title match against Hazuki, Athena accepted to have a 10 minute time limit proving ground match against Janai Kai.
Janai was on point and although not every kick hit, when she did, she took the champion to her limit (and the ground)Â
After a couple of near falls and still unable to beat the challenger, Athena’s minion decided to take matters into her own hands by interfering, hitting Janai Kai with the title allowing Athena to hit the O face from the second rope before the ten minute time limit.
Post match and upset after her loss, Kai challenged Starkz to get on her “kick demon’s time” in a one on one match.
After returning last week to ROH, Queen Aminata was seen in action taking on Rachel Ley.
Both shook hands and went at it. Tough as she’s ever been, Aminata kicked and hit her opponent just as a Queen does. Rachel did not shy away from the action but after a failed flip, Queen finished things off by taking the win and her opponent’s head in the process.
The last women’s match of the night was the anticipated ROH Women’s World Television Championship match featuring Red Velvet and Isla Dawn.
After weeks of aiming at the champion and targeting whoever steps in the ring against her, Dawn finally earned her title match.
In her biggest opportunity since her ROH debut, Dawn was determined and did not hesitate one bit, attacking the champion as soon as she got inside the ring.
Red Velvet fought back in a fast paced match, both women used all the tools and tricks under their belt to make it to the end. Dawn was determined beating Velvet up inside and outside of the ring.
Dawn almost won the title but it was Red that was able to go the distance taking the win and retaining her championship.Â
