It is being reported that the Bianca Belair/Naomi segment from the March 7 episode of SmackDown was well received backstage.
Per Fightful Select, the most recent moment in the “Who attacked Jade Cargill?” storyline was heavily praised from those they heard from in WWE. Naomi officially revealed herself as Cargill’s attacker and gave her reason why. The performance between Naomi and Belair garnered real tears from both the competitors in a highly emotional moment.
One longtime employee in WWE stated that they felt it was the first time Naomi had the opportunity to be highlighted in a promo that had that amount of substance and that she excelled with it. There was heavy praise as well for Belair’s reaction and the addition to Cargill appearing at the end. The writing, production, and camera work was given its credit as well. Ioannis Filippides was credited for the writing while TJ Wilson was the producer.
The video on YouTube from both WWE’s official channel and the WWE channel on USA has over a million views on each.
The video that features Cargill’s spot where she comes in to take out Naomi has received 1.1 million views so far on WWE’s YouTube channel.
