It is being reported by a number of sources that Jade Cargill has received some backstage heat in WWE. Cargill, who returned at the Elimination Chamber event last week, had been written off TV for a few months.
Earlier today, The Wrestling Observer stated in a report that Cargill had heat backstage and this involved at least Shayna Baszler and took place last year. Fightful Select followed up on the story and this is what they found.
Fightful had asked WWE talent about the incident shortly after Jade Cargill was written off TV. At that time, those in the locker room had kept the issue quiet. Recently, it has been claimed that Cargill took issue with something that had happened. The word around the locker room was that Cargill had said something to the effect that Baszler needed to learn how to work. Fightful was told this came from the match in Scotland at Clash at the Castle where Cargill tapped out in what wasn’t supposed to be the finish of the match.
This situation was escalated after Cargill’s return which had much of the locker room talking. Cargill’s online return promo video that said she was “demanding respect” and being surrounded by wolves in the shape of women all around her is what sparked whispers. Fightful says least one talent in the locker room mentioned that this was taken personally by a number of talent as they kept the issue between she and Baszler quiet.
Cargill’s length of absence was also the subject of heat among the talent. Talent had heard that Cargill asked for the holiday tour off, but was told that the tour was mandatory. Following that, she sustained an injury that several members of the roster doubted the validity of, which is why reports had emerged elsewhere that she wasn’t injured. However, WWE higher ups spoke to Fightful and said that she was injured, and was actually willing to come back much earlier than she did. However, WWE wanted to make sure she was cleared by their team, and she was able to get in additional reps at the Performance Center.
Cargill is expected to be on the March 7 SmackDown to continue her storyline following her attack on Naomi.
