WWE’s Evolution premium live event is finally returning for the first time since 2018 and the roster is a mix reaction. The show is set to take place in Atlanta on July 13.
Per a report from Fightful Select, the roster as a whole found out about the event when WWE officially announced it. Some top talent did know and one legend….the legend possibly being booked.
The all women’s event has some on the roster who understand the significance of having this event again, but also didn’t care for the “curtain call” they had from the first Evolution. Citing that they don’t do that for the men.
One top talent Fightful spoke with felt like the company has too many PLEs as is, and isn’t quite sure what they’ll do here. (UMMM maybe book more women that they don’t on other PLEs?). Another talent felt that the show going up against a Beyonce concert across the street (making the area very populated and expensive) on the same night may be a reason to say the show has underperformed – thus not wanting to do it again.
A veteran expressed their excitement and hopes that more of the women that don’t get used often get an opportunity to shine. They also said they’re hoping that legends can be integrated with the newer talent to help build things. The talent specified WWE has to help build it for it to be a success.
There was certainly less excitement regarding this show, but much of that had to do with the general booking for the majority of the division of late and the manner of which the roster found out.
Although no matches have officially been announced yet, matches such as Becky Lynch vs. Bayley and Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair have been rumored.
