The current WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, has been out of action since Clash in Italy. All we have been told up to this point is that she has a knee injury. This changed plans for Night of Champions and may very well have taken her out of the upcoming annual SummerSlam event.
While speaking at Power Slap, Ripley confirmed her injury is a meniscus tear:
“I hurt my knee. I got a slight tear in my meniscus. It’s just healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. I just can’t bend it very well. It’s gotta bend, guys,” she said with a laugh.
When asked about a recovery timeline, Ripley said:
“I don’t know. I tore it in a really weird spot. It’s kind of a little up in the air with how fast my body recovers. I’ve been out just over a month now. It feels better and starts to throb. I can’t get up or bend down really slow or kind of move side to side while crouching. We’ll see how it goes.”
