Rok-C vs. Holidead on ROH TV; Women’s Division Marathon Recap to air Dec. 30

*Please note that this article may be considered spoilers as ROH TV airs at different times depending on the region.*

Rok-C defended her ROH Women’s World Championship one more time before the company goes on hiatus on ROH TV. Her challenger was Holidead who won a Four Corners Survival Match (also involved Trish Adora, Vita VonStarr, Quinn McKay)at Honor for All in November. The Prodigy headed into the match with the winning streak on her side and the championship over her shoulder but Holidead had the size advantage and experience.

Rok-C ends the year still as champion in a very competitive back and forth match between the two.

Match Time: 13:30 via pinfall

The final moments of the match saw Rok-C counter and deliver a running knee strike which had her thinking she got the pinfall but Holidead kicked out at two. While the champion couldn’t believe she didn’t put her opponent away, she pulled Holidead back to her feet but that just led to a spinebuster to Rok-C. Holidead gets a near fall.

Now with the challenger frustrated, she says she is tired of toying with the champ and places Rok-C on her shoulders. Rok-C fights out of it and ducks a clothesline before hitting Code-Rok to retain her championship.

After the match, the two participate in the code of honor and shake hands.

The Prodigy has a potential Winner Takes All match against the.AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Deonna Purrazzo. The match would take place on IMPACT! after the Hard to Kill event. Purrazzo is attempting to regain the Knockouts World Title from Mickie James at that event.

ROH has done an impressive job, by the lead of Maria Kanellis Bennett, of building up its women’s division through 2021 from the ground up. Over the course of the year Women’s Division Wednesday was a crucial part of bringing women’s wrestling to the company. That combined with the ROH Women’s Title Tournament which saw Rok-C battle Miranda Alize in the finals to become the new and first champion in a brand new lineage was an entertaining watch.

ROH will be airing all the memories with the Women’s Division Wednesday matches and others from ROH TV and pay-per-views on their YouTube channel on Dec. 30.
