The field is now half way set for the upcoming MITB ladder match on June 7. Heading into the May 19 episode of Raw, we had former MITB winner Alexa Bliss qualified from SmackDown. Now we can add both Roxanne Perez and Rhea Ripley to the list.
Ahead of Raw, Perez officially signed with Raw signifying her call up from NXT. This matches the Giulia call up to SmackDown from last week. Perez had a big night. Not only did she sign onto being Raw’s newest Superstar, but she qualified for her first MITB ladder match. She defeated two veterans, Becky Lynch and Natalya. Ahead of the match, backstage, the Women’s World Champion IYO SKY was being interview and had some words with Lynch.
As for the match, the difference maker was Lyra Valkyria. The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion isn’t finished with Lynch as she would take her out of the Triple Threat equation. This left Perez to hit Pop Rox on Natalya to get the win. Prior to the win, Natalya was close on numerous occasions to gain the victory including locking in a double Sharpshooter which had both opponents close to tapping out.
Later in the night during a Judgment Day backstage segment, Perez was introduced to the group by Finn Balor. Balor had been talking to Perez in the background for the past number of weeks. Much to Raquel Rodriguez’s dislike, Perez won over Dominik Mysterio with chicken nuggets and Carlito with apples. Balor said that Perez isn’t officially in Judgment Day, but she is there to watch the backs of Rodriguez and Liv Morgan.
The second women’s MITB qualifier saw another woman punch her ticket to her first MITB match. Shockingly, Ripley has not participated in a MITB ladder match. She defeated a returning Kairi Sane to qualify. This was Sane’s return to Raw as she was out of action since December with an injury. The match initially was a Triple Threat and included Zoey Stark. Sadly, Stark injured her knee in the match and had to be carried out by medical. We here at Diva Dirt wish Stark a quick and healthy recovery!
The next qualify takes place this Friday on SmackDown as Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Zelina Vega has been confirmed.
