Saraya (Paige) Says She Will Not Be Going To AEW “Anytime Soon”

Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, parted ways with the company on July 7 when they chose not to re-sign her.

She was forced to retire from in-ring competition due to her neck injury in 2017. Later, she would serve in a managerial role for The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) but after closing the storyline with them in 2020 she was no longer utilized on WWE programming.

Saraya has made a post-WWE appearance for Starrcast V over the weekend. During her Turn The Page segment, she commented on what she is currently working on and how although she loves AEW she doesn’t see herself going there anytime soon.

“I’m in the middle of writing a book right now, which I’m really excited about. We got a book, it’s going to be another year before it officially comes out. We’re in the middle of writing that. We’re doing other things, but I’m not allowed to say anything right now. It’s non-wrestling related, sorry guys. I’m not going to be going to AEW anytime soon. AEW seems great. I love AEW. I would love to face Britt Baker one day if the time is right, that would be awesome. All my friends are there now,” she said.

Saraya also spoke at the event on the recent WWE SummerSlam and her reaction to the Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY stable that has formed. She also gives nods to both Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose as a of late.

Along with this she was asked about Sasha Banks and Naomi and feels that they will come back now that Triple H is in charge.

“Oh she’s a big part of it (Sasha’s part of the women’s revolution). I mean everyone loves Sasha Banks right? The four horsewomen in general is such a big pinnacle part of the women’s revolution. I think she’ll be back. I think now with Hunter in charge and taking the reins and everything. I think SummerSlam in general is showing how much WWE has changed over night. I don’t think anyone has been 100% happy with a pay-per-view in a long time and people are walking away from SummerSlam being like ‘Holy Shit’ right? This is the turning point. So I feel that Sasha and Noami will hopefully, in my opinion, will come back.”

As Paige, Saraya became the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion and battled in that first championship match against Emma (Tenille Dashwood). The two former Divas took a picture together at this event.
