Second women’s match added to Worlds Collide

It has just been announced that Mia Yim will take on the NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray on the Worlds Collide Pre-show. Worlds Collide will take place on Jan. 25 the day before the Royal Rumble event at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. At this time the announcement does not state that this match has the title on the line.

This match, although on the Pre-show, makes it the second match on the card. The match on the main card is for the NXT Women’s Championship between the champion Rhea Ripley and long-time rival Toni Storm. Storm originally hoped this would be a title vs. title match but she was unable to regain the NXT UK Championship in her Triple Threat venture against Ray and Piper Niven at TakeOver: Blackpool II.

Generally, WWE puts on a TakeOver event prior to major pay-per-views. This time they are doing Worlds Collide which in this case pits both NXT brands against each other. The next TakeOver will be in Portland as a stand-alone show on Feb. 16. At that event Bianca Belair will face Ripley for the title.

What are your thoughts on this match that was added? Do you think it should be for the UK title? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
