SHINE 23 Tomorrow on iPPV; Mia Yim vs. Nevaeh for the SHINE Championship & More

SHINE returns to the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida tomorrow night for SHINE 23, with a new champion ready to lead the promotion into the new year.

On WWNLive’s tour of China last month, Mia Yim defeated Ivelisse to become the new SHINE Champion. However, her first title defense will be an immediate challenge as she faces the Gem City Queen and member of SoCal Val‘s new “Valifornia” stable, Nevaeh.

In the tag team division, the team of Legendary (Malia Hosaka and Brandi Wine, accompanied by Leilani Kai) will be hoping to extend their surprise reign as SHINE Tag Team Champions by yet another month when they take on The Kimber Bombs (Kimber Lee and Cherry Bomb).

Meanwhile, the team that Legendary defended the titles against at SHINE 22, Daffney‘s Buddy System (Solo Darling and Heidi Lovelace), will be hoping to get back to winning ways – but it won’t be easy, as they’ll be up against the other two members of Valifornia, the duo of B.T.Y. (Jayme Jameson and Marti Belle), who have been galvanised since being taken under SoCal Val’s wing.

As the dynamic has shifted in SHINE, with new stables, tag teams and rivalries emerging, Valkyrie have found themselves on the backburner in recent months, but they’ve been rebuilding under the radar, with a clean sweep of victories at the previous SHINE event. This time two of their members, Allysin Kay and Taylor Made (with April Hunter accompanying them at ringside as usual), find themselves in singles action, with Made facing La Rosa Negra and Kay going up against Crazy Mary Dobson.

Leah Von Dutch‘s “Dino Hunter” mission continues (sort of) tomorrow night as she takes on another member of Legendary, Thunderkitty, who despite being considerably younger than her stablemates is, I suppose, a veteran at heart. Of course, she’ll be accompanied by Legendary’s enforcer Leilani Kai, which certainly adds a modicum of experience to the mix.

In addition, Former SHINE Tag Team Champion Leva Bates will hope to get her singles career back on track in the same fashion her partner Mia Yim has, as she faces a SHINE debutante in the highly impressive Vanessa Kraven. Meanwhile, Ivelisse will also be going back to the drawing board after losing the SHINE Championship in China, as she has the chance to vent her frustrations on Amanda Rodriguez, and Amber O’Neal makes her return to a SHINE ring after several months’ absence to take on another SHINE returnee, Luscious Latasha.

It has also been announced that for those of you who didn’t see Mia Yim’s victory over Ivelisse in China, that match will also be aired in HD for all fans, both in attendance and watching online.

SHINE 23 takes place tomorrow night at the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida, at 9pm Eastern (2am GMT), and will be broadcast live on iPPV. To order the event, click here.
