The road to WrestleMania 38 continues with tonight’s SmackDown.
Ronda Rousey is geared to make her SmackDown in-ring debut as she faces Sonya Deville. Deville’s momentum has shifted from Naomi to Rousey ever since Elimination Chamber and the two will settle it in the ring tonight. Deville attacked Rousey last week after she was having an interview in the ring and was interrupted by her WrestleMania opponent, the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
This is the only match officially announced for tonight, but let’s discuss what took place last week.
“The Protector” Xia Li finally made her in-ring debut last week. After being drafted and called up from NXT in October, Li had several vignettes before appearing and keeping Aliyah safe from any unwanted attacks. She took out Natalya in her debut match.
Elsewhere on last week’s SmackDown, Sasha Banks made her return for the first time since the Royal Rumble in a match against Shotzi. This was Shozti’s first in-ring match since the Rumble as well and had only been spotted backstage since then. Banks defeated Shotzi and was then joined by Naomi in the ring who declared themselves a team once again in their careers. They have eyed up tag team gold and will be facing the champs Queen Zelina and Carmella at WrestleMania.
As always, feel free to discuss tonight’s show below.
