Tonight’s SmackDown is the last show before this weekend’s WrestleMania Backlash event. Currently, there is only one women’s match set for the event and it is from the blue brand as Charlotte Flair defends the SmackDown Women’s Title against Ronda Rousey. They will be facing off in an “I Quit” match.
Last week, the two competitors had a Beat the Clock “I Quit” challenge. Rousey was able to cause Shotzi to quit in 1:41 but Flair wasn’t able to defeat Aliyah in time before the clock ran out.
Naomi and Sasha Banks are gearing up to defend their Women’s Tag Team Championships next week on May 13 episode of SmackDown. For whatever reason, they are not booked for WrestleMania Backlash. Their opponents will be Shayna Baszler and Natalya.
Last week, Naomi defeated Baszler in singles competition. However, post-match Natalya held Banks back as she was forced to watch Baszler attack the arm of Naomi. Tonight, Banks will be taking on Baszler.
Lacey Evans continues to have her vignettes air about her return. Another one will likely come tonight.
If you would like to watch more women’s wrestling after SmackDown, two women’s matches are set for NXT Level Up on Peacock.
- Sloane Jacobs vs. Thea Hail
- Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley vs. Sarray & Erica Yan
