SmackDown Discussion Post: 08.19.22

SmackDown is celebrating its 1,200 episodes tonight.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament continues tonight on SmackDown. A match that was originally set to be Natalya & Sonya Deville vs. Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons now has new opponents for the SmackDown team. Toxic Attraction will be a replacement for Stark and Lyons while making their SmackDown debut. There is no word on if this is a permanent call-up at this time. This will be the last first-round match.

Shawn Michaels made the announcement on the team replacement and stated Stark and Lyons were both not medically cleared to compete.

Clash at the Castle is coming up in just a couple of weeks on Sept. 3 and Liv Morgan will be defending against Shayna Baszler. Last week the two had a contract signing which started with Ronda Rousey coming in to pay her fine from SummerSlam.
