Sol Ruca To Get IC Title Rematch; Vaquer vs. Morgan Set For Sept. 7

Sol Ruca is getting a shot at regaining the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship currently held by Raquel Rodriguez.

Following her victory over another former champion Lyra Valkyria last week, Ruca has secured an opportunity for a title match, while Valkyria is still eager to contend for the championship herself. In fact, during a backstage segment on Raw on Aug. 24, she attempted to persuade Ruca to hand over her title shot. This would allow Ruca to challenge Valkyria for the title rather than facing Raquel Rodriguez.

IYO SKY was backstage with Ruca when Valkyria came in to plead her case. Valkyria left after Ruca refused to give her the title match and told her to earn a shot herself. Valkyria warned her that Bayley used to talk to her like that.

Ruca vs. Rodriguez happens next week.

Stephanie Vaquer returned to the ring this week on Raw for the first time since WrestleMania. She faced Roxanne Perez with of course Liv Morgan and Rodriguez at ringside.

Perez almost secured a win with a rake to the eyes, followed by a facebuster and a shining wizard. Shortly after, Vaquer executed a SVB and climbed to the top rope for a Vaquer Inferno, but Rodriguez distracted the referee, enabling Morgan to pull her down. Becky Lynch’s entrance music played, prompting her to come out and go after Morgan. Vaquer supported Lynch as Rodriguez targeted her and stopped her from doing so.

Vaquer won the match with a vertical hold into the double knees. Lynch made sure there wasn’t an after match attack by sending Morgan into the time keepers area. Lynch let Vaquer know this was the second time she has saved her before leaving the ring.

Later in the night, Vaquer confirmed she will have a Women’s World Title Match against Morgan on Sept. 7.
