Sonya Deville Talks PFC, Feels The Direction Could Have Been Clearer

Daria Berenato, formerly known as Sonya Deville, departed ways from WWE shockingly in February when it was announced her contract would not be renewed. Berenato was active on TV, just finishing an appearance in the Royal Rumble with her Pure Fusion Collective stablemates Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler.

The trio that made up PFC was together since July of last year. Stark and Baszler joined forces with a returning Deville who offered her services to help them in the tag team division. However, the group often felt disconnected with fans and wasn’t explained well by creative.

Berenato spoke on a recent episode of Busted Open. She agreed that the vision wasn’t clear for the group and that the direction could have been explained better.

“I felt like there could have been a more clear direction in where we were going and what we could have done and what we could have brought to the table. I saw PFC working, kind of only under one umbrella, and I saw it working, we were three chicks that were fed up with the system, anti-authority, that were just gonna kick ass and take names. That doesn’t mean winning every match by any means. It was more like, let’s beat people up backstage. Let me be more like the puppeteer/manipulator backstage because of my history as GM and everything. I thought that would be a cool angle, but let’s just mess people up. That’s what I saw it being,” she said.

After her departure from WWE, Berenato announced she booked an acting role. As for the future of PFC, it is unknown as Stark and Baszler haven’t had time on Raw since Berenato’s departure.
