IMPACT held its first night of tapings out of two on Friday, Aug. 26. The second set will take place on Saturday, Aug. 27. The promotion is heading towards its next event Bound for Glory and before that Victory Road.
Already advertised for these tapings was a number one contenders match for the Knockouts World Title and Mickie James will be making an announcement.
Let’s get to the spoilers from night one (via PWInsider) –
- Masha Slamovich defeated Deonna Purrazzo to become number one contender
- Mickie James defeated Hyan
- Chelsea Green defeated Taya Valkyrie
Update – Additional information has been provided from the first night of tapings via IMPACT Asylum –
- Mickie James’ announcement – She comes out and announces that while she is not retiring, she would be issuing open challenges until she gets a Knockouts Title shot. If she loses before she gets her title shot, then she will retire.
- After Slamovich defeated Purrazzo – the Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace came out and hands Slamovich a picture of herself with the big red X. The two have a staredown.
- After James defeats Hyan, Gisele Shaw comes out and challenges James for Victory Road.
- Green defeated Valkyrie after Jessicka accidentally distracted Valkyrie.
