The Aug. 17 episode of Raw continues its weekly tradition as of late with one women’s match. However, Stephanie Vaquer did open the show.
Vaquer takes to the ring to discuss the fact that she is only out here for the title. She says wrestling is her first language and wants Liv Morgan to come out. The Women’s World Champion accepts the request as she is joined by her Judgment Day pals, Roxanne Perez and the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Raquel Rodriguez.
Morgan acknowledges that Vaquer is not here for talk, but the champion herself has a lot on her mind. Becky Lynch has said that Morgan holding the title negates the hard work of the women who came before her or that are still to come, and she doesn’t care. She’s not a champion for those women and she’s not a champion for any of the fans either. She reminds Vaquer that she defeated her at WrestleMania and the attack by the Judgment Day afterwards attacked Vaquer, taking her out for months.
Vaquer provoked Morgan to come to the ring, which the champion had no issue doing with her backup at her sides. Once in the ring, the numbers game was quick on Vaquer until Becky Lynch made her way out.
Despite Lynch’s help, the Judgment Day would continue to dominate. Lynch and Vaquer are not friends, and Vaquer did not want Lynch to assist her. Later in the night, the two exchanged words backstage. Vaquer says Roxanne is her problem now and that Lynch shouldn’t become her next one. Lynch says as long as Vaquer stands in her way of the title she will be a problem.
Sol Ruca took on Lyra Valkyria. Both former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champions wanting to get closer to another title shot. Ruca defeated Valkyria with Sol Snatcher.
After the match, Valkyria says Sol isn’t the champion so there has to be a way to face Rodriguez.
