Stephanie Vaquer is the current NXT Women’s North American Champion and is ready to face her friend Giulia in a Title for Title Match with the NXT Women’s Championship also on the line.
Vaquer signed with WWE in July of last year and this was a quick signing following her match against Mercedes Mone at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event. She recently spoke with Busted Open After Dark with Bully Ray about her signing with WWE.
“My dream. WWE is my dream. I tried to think I like adult, that option. But WWE is my dream and say, okay this is for me. Many options and talks, but say no. WWE is for me, and I take NXT because I really like do things or new things but good. I don’t like the fast and no good. So I say okay, I need to learn English, I need to learn TV show, I need to learn American style, WWE style. So first I say, ‘Main roster,’ but changed and day, ‘I want to go to NXT for learn,” Vaquer said. (Transcript – Fightful)
She continued, “Yeah. Main roster [was my first answer]. The first call, they call me and say, ‘NXT or main roster?’ I say, ‘Main roster.’ Yeah, I think and say, ‘Okay, take it easy. I need to learn English…okay, change. NXT.”
Vaquer takes on Giulia next week on March 11 at Roadblock.
