Syuri was crowned the winner of STARDOM’s annual 5*STAR Grand Prix tournament on Sep 25 at Ota Ward Gymnasium in Toyko, Japan.
The member of Donna Del Mondo defeated Momo Watanabe in a match of the year contender in the finals of the competition.
The match was an incredibly powerful and physical affair with both warriors firing at one another with breathtaking intensity. They battered each other with ferocious strikes and wince-inducing moves for 18 emphatic minutes, which capped of an incredible tournament for both competitors.
After the match, Syuri challenged Utami Hayashishita for the World of Stardom title on Dec 29 at Sumo Hall.
The champion and challenger are no strangers to one another and have unfinished business. They clashed for the title in a 5-star classic match back in June that ended in a Double KO.
Earlier in the night, Syuri bested Takumi Iroha in another astounding outing. They battled to a time limit draw after 20-minute of top-quality action.
Utami also successfully defended her World of STARDOM title against Tam Nakano in an excellent match.
