Syuri Wins Back IWGP Women’s Title At NJPW Event

Syuri is once again the IWGP Women’s Champion. Ahe defeated the very woman that took the belt off of her, Sareee. The two battled at the NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling 2025 event. This ends the reign of Sareee at 114 days. She had three successful defenses.

Syuri is the first woman to have two reigns since the creation of this title in 2022 when it was first won by KAIRI.

Syuri said the following about her win in the post show press conference:

“Together with the IWGP belt, I will create a new history. And on January 4th at the Tokyo Dome, I want to compete as the IWGP Women’s Champion. I hope you can make that happen. I believe I have the right to be there. I want to spread the excitement of women’s professional wrestling even further to the world.”

Sareee said about her loss:

“I’m truly proud of myself for being able to stand on this symbolic stage of IWGP, this grand stage of New Japan Pro-Wrestling (omitted)… If it were me, I would definitely seize this chance again with my own hands. I won’t borrow anyone’s power. I will surely crawl back up with my own strength.”
