Last night’s NXT marked the final episode of the year and the last stop before New Year’s Evil. With the holidays still in full swing and that strange time portal between Christmas and New Year’s firmly open this week’s recap stays brief before things snap back into focus next week. Let’s get into it.
Tatum Paxley & Izzi Dame Face Off
Backstage, Izzi Dame addressed her issues with Tatum Paxley, brushing off last week’s chainsaw chaos and claiming Paxley is beyond repair. Dame positioned herself as Paxley’s “cure,” framing their rivalry as something she intends to end on her terms.
Paxley interrupted to a strong crowd reaction and delivered one of her more grounded promos yet. She flipped Dame’s insults back on her, calling out Dame’s insecurity and reminding her that she doesn’t need old friends, she has the fans. Paxley challenged Dame to face her at New Year’s Evil, no allies and no weapons. Dame accepted. A brief physical exchange closed the segment, with Paxley landing a flipping neckbreaker to punctuate the challenge.
Jacy Jayne (w/ Fatal Influence) vs. Wren Sinclair
With Kendal Grey waiting in the wings for New Year’s Evil, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne took on Wren Sinclair in a non-title bout. Jayne controlled much of the match, weathered Sinclair’s underdog offense, and finished things clean with Rolling Encore.
WINNER: Jacy Jayne
Post-match, Fatal Influence swarmed Sinclair until Kendal Grey stormed the ring, fending them off and forcing Jayne to tap out to an armbar. Grey stood tall holding the NXT Women’s Championship, sending a clear message ahead of next week.
Backstage Notes
- Ava reminded Robert Stone about the upcoming Year End Awards before addressing a visibly shaken Blake Monroe, who requested a different referee for her title match. Ava couldn’t promise one—but encouraged Blake to bring “The Glamour” if she wants her championship back.
- Thea Hail shared a moment with Jordynne Grace, offering to stand in her corner at New Year’s Evil. Grace reluctantly accepted the support—on her terms.

Next week’s live special is stacked:
