Following last week’s episode of NXT, Tatum Paxley is the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Title. Could she be the next champion?
Paxley will be taking on the current champion Jacy Jayne at Halloween Havoc, which will be airing this Saturday. Jayne has held the title for 147 days and counting. This will be her fifth title defense.
In an article with The Dallas Morning News, Shawn Michaels and Tatum Paxley were featured. Michaels spoke very highly of Paxley and what she brings to NXT.
“Tatum (Paxley) is an unbelievably unique individual when it comes to being an NXT superstar. She has connected with our audience in a way that very few people have. She is the girl next door, but she also has these dark and kind of strange qualities that endear people to her… The arc of her storyline over the last several years has just been something that’s been incredibly fun to watch. It’s been an absolute blast to be a part of.”
The last time that Paxley went for the NXT Women’s Title was at the 2024 Spring Breakin’ event in April of last year. The match was a Triple Threat with Roxanne Perez as champion and Lyra Valkyria. Perez retained.
Paxley is a homegrown talent and signed with WWE in 2021. She is looking for her first title as she has also challenged for other championships both in WWE ans TNA.
