Teal Piper, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper, has officially signed with Women of Wrestling (WOW). Jeanie Buss, owner of the groundbreaking all-female wrestling promotion announced over the weekend that she had officially signed.
She will become the newest Superhero to join WOW’s growing roster and will debut for the organization at its Sept. 18 & 19 live events in Los Angeles at the Belasco Theater. Similar to Tessa Blanchard, Piper expects to make a name for herself by showing off her incredible promo skills that embody her father’s persona and what made him great. She is looking to create a new generation of Piper fans.
Piper is putting in the work and focusing on her in-ring skills at the WOW training center in Long Beach, Calif. under the guidance of head trainer Selina Majors.
“Wrestling has always been a part of me, and while no one can ever replace my dad, I hope to make sure no one ever forgets him,” said Piper.
Buss had the following to say about the signing of Teal:
“WOW is proud to welcome Teal on board as the newest member of our family of Superheroes. Her father, Roddy, left an indelible mark not only on wrestling but on countless fans across the world. His spirit is alive and well within her, and the drive she has shown during her training sessions has been truly incredible to watch. WOW is honored to join Teal on her journey, as she pays tribute to Roddy’s legacy while blazing a new trail that is entirely her own.”
At this time Piper has not had an official match with any organization and she is scheduled for her first match at AEW’s All Out event. That event will be on Aug. 31 as she will be participating in the 21-woman Casino Battle Royale. The winner becoming the first participant for the inaugural AEW’s Women’s World Championship.
