From their in-ring abilities to their unique personalities, we aim to spotlight some of the upcoming female talent that you may not yet know about. Each day until Christmas Eve, we will unveil the names that the Diva Dirt staff have handpicked.

ONE TO WATCH: AMANDA RODRIGUEZ

Who is she?: North Carolina native Amanda Rodriguez has two years of wrestling experience under her belt, which she’s spent making her name in the east coast wrestling scene. She’s recently leapt to the indy wrestling mainstream, competing for every one of the United States’s major all-women promotions. You may also recognize her from this year’s Diva Dirt Legacy Award announcement, in which she joined some of the biggest names in women’s wrestling in honoring the legendary Lita.

Her story so far: Amanda made her start in 2013 with PWX, where she competed against some of the biggest names in indy women’s wrestling. That same year, she was the sole woman to compete in PWX’s Tag Title Tournament. She and her partner Chip Day made it to the finals, but fell short of winning gold. Since then, she’s expanded into the all-women promotions, competing for Queens of Combat, WSU, SHIMMER and SHINE. In SHINE, she’s formed an alliance with La Rosa Negra and Lucha Underground star Ivelisse as the stable Las Sicarias Emerges.

Why we chose her: Amanda has the talent, looks and personality to make it far in the wrestling business, and she’s certainly not wasting time: since first stepping into the ring in 2013, Amanda has wrestled for a wide variety of promotions, building a following across the country. It’s clear that Amanda is determined to become the next breakout star, and judging by her appearances on SHINE iPPVs, a SHIMMER volume and prestigious title tournaments, it’s hard to argue that her efforts are going unnoticed.
