The Kabuki Warriors to become the longest-reigning Tag Team Champions

The Kabuki Warriors have held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship since October. This is where they defeated Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross at Hell in a Cell. Today marks 119-days which is just one day shy of The IIconics longest reign of 120-days. Unless they lose their championship on RAW tomorrow they will surpass The IIconics reign.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship is still rather new in its history. It is quickly approaching a year since inception as the inaugural champs, The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection, were crowned on Feb. 17 2019. This took place at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

A total of four teams have held the belts during its first year. The last time the Kabuki Warriors defended the title was at the TLC pay-per-view in December. They defeated Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the main event of that event in a TLC tag team match.

Since then Asuka faced Becky Lynch at the Royal Rumble for the RAW Women’s Championship in a losing effort. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross defeated Fire & Desire this past Friday on SmackDown. Although not officially announced, this win was said to jockey them in position for a possible championship match.
