The last Raw in March took place this Monday in the famous Madison Square Garden in New York.
The show started with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes who was surprisingly interrupted by Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie joined Rhodes in the ring to discuss WrestleMania and his upcoming match against Randy Orton. She wanted to let Rhodes know that this side of Orton is different and that this version of Rhodes will not be able to beat him.
Stephanie went in to talk about Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes took issue with Stephanie saying that he is not up to the level of his father as he fired back saying that she isn’t like her father either. She proceeded to slap Rhodes before insisting that she is just trying to help him out. Rhodes ended the segment by saying he has two words for Stephanie, “Thank You.”
Next on the show we saw Liv Morgan take to the ring to call out a different Stephanie, Stephanie Vaquer. Morgan stood in the ring, with mic in hand, and said it is one thing to attack her…but to attack her family, to attack Daddy Dom? She adds that Vaquer doesn’t have any family here before saying some choice words about Vaquer’s mother in Spanish.
Vaquer responded to the disrespect by charging to the ring. Liv Morgan pointed out that she stood alone, but it quickly became clear it was a trap for the Women’s World Champion. After Vaquer brought a chair into the ring, The Prodigy Roxanne Perez made her return, slipping in behind Vaquer to ambush her. The two-on-one assault followed, with the chair used as Morgan delivered ObLIVion onto it. The Judgment Day stood tall, holding the Women’s World Title belt.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles were on the line next. Since The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) won the titles from RHIYO in February, they have defend the gold against three teams – former champions Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, the Hall of Famers The Bella Twins, and now Bayley & Lyra Valkyria. Despite some good spots sin the match including Bayley hoisting Jax onto her shoulders to execute a power bomb, this match ended the same as the previous two – without a decisive winner.
The Bellas and Flair/Bliss appeared, as the chaos began as expected. Valkyria tried to stop them before the champs got involved on the outside. Jax threw Valkyria into Flair and Bliss before Legend joined to take out the twins. Before we know it, the four teams wind up in the ring resulting in the bell ringing for the no contest result.
Post match, the three challenging teams stand in the ring as the champions are on the ramp. A Fatal 4-way has officially been made for WrestleMania with the titles on the line. A decisive finish will take place at the biggest show of the year.
Lastly, we had a match between IYO SKY and Raquel Rodriguez. The match took us back to the chemistry the two have showed since their feud in NXT. Judgment Day was not at ringside for Rodriguez.
A thorn in the side continues to be The Kabuki Warriors, specifically Asuka, for SKY. A reluctant Kairi Sane and a commanding Asuka made their way down to the ring. Sane was made to get up on the ring apron which caused concern for SKY. SKY moved out of the way as Rodriguez hit Sane off the apron.
This angered Asuka, which SKY took notice of…distracting her from the match. SKY went out of the ring to try and convince Sane that she doesn’t need to continue to take Asuka’s abuse. However, this would cost SKY the match as Rodriguez landed a Tejana Bomb back in the ring for the victory.
We are now just 19 days away from WrestleMania. We will see if we get a SKY vs. Asuka match added to the card.
