24 hours before Hard to Kill, IMPACT Wrestling announced that Mickie James vs. Jordynne Grace in a Career vs. Knockouts Championship match will be the official main event of the pay-per-view on Friday, January 13. It will mark the second Knockouts pay-per-view main event after James defeated Deonna Purrazzo in a Texas Death match in 2022. It will also mark Hardcore Country’s 200th match in IMPACT as she fights to keep her career intact.
In terms of Knockouts action on IMPACT though, we saw Rosemary clash with Savannah Evans. Before the match, Taya Valkyrie was found to be attacked backstage. This led to Rosemary showing her aggressive side as she looked to put away Evans as quickly as she could.
Evans shifted the momentum with she planted Rosemary with a spinebuster before doing a bridging suplex cover. On the outside, Jessicka shoved down Jai Vidal before Rosemary knocked Shaw off the apron. Thanks to the distraction, Evans hit Rosemary with the full-nelson slam for the three-count.
Gail Kim appeared in a backstage segment to reveal that a temporary authority figure will be revealed at Hard to Kill. Could it be a former Knockout?
Three matches are set for Friday’s big event:
- Pre-Show: Death Dollz (Rosemary, Jessicka & Taya Valkyrie) vs. Gisele Shaw, Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans
- #1 Contender’s Match: Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taylor Wilde vs. Masha Slamovich vs. Killer Kelly
- Knockouts Title vs. Career: Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Mickie James
